(W) Basil Wolverton (A) Basil Wolverton (CA) Basil Wolverton

Basil Wolverton was one of the most unusual, innovative and influential cartoonists of all time. He drew the cover of a Life Magazine (the winner of Al Capp's legendary ugliest woman contest), early issues of HARVEY KURTZMAN's edited MAD Comics, and countless bizarre caricatures. This Artist's Edition features an incredible array of comic book stories and pages, including Powerhouse Pepper and Spacehawk, a selection of his classic end of the world illustrations, and a good helping of zany characters of all manner, as only Wolverton could have done them!

EC WALLY WOOD ATOM BOMB HC

(W) HARVEY KURTZMAN (A) Wallace Wood (CA) Wallace Wood

When Wallace Wood teamed up with HARVEY KURTZMAN, the result was some of the best war stories ever put to paper. Wood and Kurtzman delivered deeply human tales from the Civil War to World War I to World War II to Korea. Wood and Kurtzman depicted the madness and horror of war, including the controversial title story which depicted the bombing of Nagasaki from the viewpoint of the victims on the ground. Atom Bomb and Other Stories collects all the combat tales Wood and Kurtzman did together for EC's Two-Fisted Tales and Frontline Combat, plus other war stories Wood did for EC writer/editor Al Feldstein as well.
